I was staying in Ullapool Youth Hostel
when I met the guy in the picture. He was due to get
married so decided to do a 'John Merrill' and walk round
the UK coast. He was holed up in Ullapool waiting for his
supply train to arrive and asked if he could join me on a
walk. We drove up to Quinag and spent a great day wandering over the ridges and admiring the watery scenery that is Assynt. Distance covered: 8 miles |

| Quinag in Assynt is typical of the little hills North of Ullapool. These hills stand stark against the watery peat hags looking almost lunar in character. Quinag is one of the larger hills with a vaguely horseshoe shape. | ||
