We set off from Newtonmore on Speyside
to cover all the Monadhliath Munros. After a highlevel
camp we slowly curved round the high plateau that
comprises the Monadhliath mountains, finally dropping
down to this cozy bothy for the night. Next day, with the
sun splitting the sky we walked out following the burn
back to the road. Distance covered: 23 miles |

The Monadhliath are not exciting hills even to their most ardent fans(and they are few). They do have some interesting glens and several comfortable bothies hidden in their recesses and are always quiet. In winter they offer excellent cross country skiing opportunities. |
